Hongxing Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.(Hongxing for short) was established on April 17, 1999, by Jiuquan Iron and Steel (Group) Co., Ltd.(JISCO for short) in association with Lanzhou Railway Bureau, Gansu Province Electric Power Co., Ltd., Jinchuan Non-Ferrous Metals Co., Ltd. and Northwest Yongxin Chemical Co., Ltd., five large state-owned enterprises with diversified shareholder structures.
Hongxing Co., Ltd. stock was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in December 2000. In September 2009, Hongxing purchased assets related to the iron front system, carbon steel rolling system, and auxiliary system, the main business held by the headquarters of JISCO, through a private stock offering, as well as 100% shares of Yuzhong Steel Co., Ltd., formed a complete supporting production line. It completed the acquisition of stainless steel assets in 2013 and has created an entire steel industry chain with carbon steel and stainless steel.

Hongxing has complete carbon steel and stainless steel supporting production processes from mining, mineral processing, sintering, coking, iron making, steel making, hot rolling, cold rolling, etc. It forms three steel production bases in Jiayuguan headquarters (in Lanzhou), Yuzhong (in Lanzhou), and Yicheng (in Shanxi), with an annual production capacity of 10 million tons of iron, 12 million tons of steel (including 1.2 million tons of stainless steel) and 12 million tons of profiles.
Jiayuguan headquarters Production Base: With an annual production capacity of 9.5 million tons of iron ore; 6 million tons of pig iron; 6.5 million tons of steel (including 1.2 million tons of stainless steel), and 6.5 million tons of profiles. It has production lines for carbon steel high-speed wire rods, high-speed bar, medium-thick plate,
hot-rolled coil/sheet, cold-rolled sheet, hot-rolled stainless steel coil/sheet, and
cold-rolled stainless steel sheet.
The carbon steel system has the world’s leading cold rolling and galvanizing production lines with the leading equipment provided by Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Siemens, voestalpine, and Nippon Steel. Its main products are cold rolled sheets
of grade CQ, DQ, and DDQ, zero spangle GI steel sheets, and alloy coated GL
steel sheets, mainly used in home appliance, automotive, machinery, and food packaging industries.
Stainless steel system has the world’s first-class stainless steel production equipment and is the third domestic stainless steel production enterprise that has the complete process from steelmaking, hot rolling, to cold rolling. It has 1.2 million tons of stainless steel slab production capacity, 1.1 million tons of hot-rolled stainless steel black coils, 700,000 tons of cold-rolled and pickled stainless steel products, and 200,000 tons
of medium-thick stainless steel plates.
Lanzhou Yuzhong Production Base: With an annual production capacity of 3.6 million tons of pig iron, 4 million tons of converter steel, 1.5 million tons of hot-rolled steel rebars, and 2.2 million tons of high-speed wire rods. The 2800m³ blast furnace, which was put into operation in September 2012, is the most significant single volume and the most advanced modern blast furnace in Northwest China.
Shanxi Yicheng Production Base: With an annual production capacity of 1 million tons of pig iron, 2 million tons of converter steel, and 2.2 million tons of hot-rolled steel rebars, it is the most extensive production base of Grade III rebar in the region.
